Delicately Carved Twisting Ball in Cage Whimsy antique macrame basket I've shot them at 2x

I've shot them at 2x magnification to properly capture the beauty of their slightly irregular carved wood forms

I’m not an expert but think it might represent an American Oystercatcher with its bright yellow eyes and long beak

I love it as an object and would indeed be inclined to hang it on the wall

Delicately Carved Twisting Ball in Cage Whimsy antique macrame basket I've shot them at 2xSuch a delicate, almost dainty little whimsy, with these very thin posts carved very carefully on the diagonal, giving the whole thing a twist. The U shaped loop handle at top would make it an easily one to hang mid air, where it might spiral perpetually. Lovely. 3 1 8" t x 3 4" w and d. Very good condition. A little dust captured in a couple photos, which I will brush off!
